Over 14,000 people enjoyed last years' annual Keels & Wheels Concours d'
Elegance. Interested partakers, as well as the car/boat owners, come from virtually all over the United States and Europe to see the various 200 Classic Automobiles and 80-90 Vintage Wooden boats on display. Keels & Wheels has become the largest Classic car and boat show in the United States. This fun-filled extravaganza is a charity event benefitng Boys & Girls Harbor.

A new feature this year will be the Tour d' Elegance on Friday, April 30 from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. This will be a driving tour of the classic cars that will be in the show during the weekend. We will leave Lakewood Yacht Club, with a Police motor cycle escort, taking a beautiful scenic route to the San Jacinto Battlegrounds and Museum for coffee and donuts plus a tour of the historic museum. From there the tour will drive another route ending up at the NASA Space Center Museum for lunch, hosted by one of the Astronauts, and then back to Lakewood for placement on the grounds by 2:00 PM.

Also new this year is a second auction. Robert Monical is selling his entire collection of 74 Classic cars at a 'No Reserve Auction' which will take place Friday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. The collection includes a number of early Thunderbirds and Corvettes as well as other 50's classics.
The second auction tent will be set up to display the cars. An early preview of these cars will be on Thursday and early Friday, April 29-30th.
Afterwards, the Houston Classic Auction of an additional 100 classic cars will take place on Saturday as usual.

An additional preview event will be on Thursday, March 4th, called Keels & Wheels Uncorked which is a fundraiser for Boys & Girls Harbor at the Ferrari of Houston dealership. Several restaurants are participating such as Carmello's, Mark's, Mockingbird Bisto, and Ibiza. These restaurants will be pairing an exquisite wine with a specific car that has been assigned to them. Should be a very unique evening and will serve as a tasting to the types of cars you can expect to see at Keels & Wheels. Another preview event will be held at City Centre on Thursday, April 1st, displaying over 30 of the cars that will be on display at the show in May.

Reflecting back over the last 14 years, Mr. Bob Fuller states that $782,800.00 has been donated to the charities Keels & Wheels has supported.
That is no small accomplishment and it would not have been accomplished without the support of our sponsors, the car and boat owners and the membership of Lakewood Yacht Club. The Economic Impact to the Clear Lake area is over $3.5 million each year over the Concours Weekend.
